In the spirit of increasing collaboration and sharing good ideas, the Avian Science Center is currently organizing a series of professional workshops related to Avian Science. Check back in a few months for more information on upcoming events.
Planned workshops include one for scientists conducting research on Black-backed Woodpeckers, one on GIS habitat modeling approaches and one on how to organize and conduct a statewide bird monitoring program.
We currently visit field demonstration sites with the general public, educators, agency biologists and managers, and local decision-makers. These sites allow us to demonstrate first hand our research results, and to discuss management implications. For example, the Black Mountain fire site near Missoula is a favorite field demonstration site.
